June 6th to 11th saw the 59th Pilgrimage to Lourdes become a great success yet again. Close to 600 people travelled – including assisted pilgrims who stayed in the Acceuil and were looked after by Dr’s, Nurses, Handmaids, Brancardiers, Young hospital team, and of course, the Youth Group. Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan, Bishop William Lee and nine Priests also travelled, and the Liturgies were made special by the participation of the Diocesan Choir.
Next year will see the special celebration of the pilgrimage reach its Diamond Jubilee – 60 years of pilgrimages from the Diocese. So much has changed in that time.
Maybe now is the time to think about travelling with the Diocese next year on this special pilgrimage, and visit the Shrine of Our Lady where she spoke to Bernadette and in doing so, allowing Lourdes to be a place of prayer and healing for those who are sick and need help in any way.
