Payment Terms and Conditions
This payment system is provided by the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore and its third-party suppliers.
The Diocese may update these terms from time to time and any changes will be effective immediately on being set out here. Please ensure that you review these terms and conditions periodically to ensure you are aware of the current terms.
Please read these terms carefully before using the online payment facility. Using the online payment facility on this website indicates that you accept these terms. If you do not accept these terms do not use this facility.
Please see the Privacy section of these terms and conditions for information on how your personal data is processed when you use the online donation function.
All payments are subject to the following conditions:
You must be 18 years or over to use the donate function on www.waterfordlismore.ie
We cannot accept liability for a payment not reaching the correct account due to you quoting an incorrect card number or incorrect personal details.
Neither can we accept liability if payment is refused or declined by the credit/debit card supplier for any reason.
Security
All payment details which are entered through this payment gateway are encrypted. Communications to and from the service provider's site are encrypted.
The Diocese shall not be liable for any failure by the donor or third-party making a donation on their behalf to properly protect data from being seen on their screen by other persons or otherwise obtained by such persons, during the online payment process or in respect of any omission to provide accurate information in the course of the online payment process.
All cardholder information is protected and will not be passed onto any third parties, except as provided for in these terms and conditions or our privacy policy.
The Diocese shall not be liable for any unforeseeable losses incurred by the donor that arise from the donor’s actions.
Refund Policy
Refund of payments made will be at the discretion of the Diocese. Disputes regarding amounts paid must be made in writing to the Diocese to the following address:- Diocese of Waterford & Lismore, Bishop’s House, St. John’s Hill, Waterford.
Refunds, if applicable, will only be made to the debit/credit card used for the original transaction.
Cancellation Policy
Recurring payments can be cancelled at any time, by contacting the Diocese at Diocese of Waterford & Lismore, Bishop’s House, St. John’s Hill, Waterford.
Privacy
Personal data is data that identifies you or can be used to identify you or contact you and may include, for example, your name, address, mobile number, or email address.
When you donate to the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore and/or any of its parishes, you will provide the Diocese with the following personal data:
- Your name and email address;
- The amount you donate;
- The frequency of the donation; and
- Your payment card details (or details of the card used for payment), including, cardholder name, card number, card expiry date and CCV number.
When you provide us with your personal information and agree to these terms and conditions, you consent to the Diocese collecting your personal information as outlined above and processing it in the manner provided for in these terms.
This personal data that you volunteer to us will be processed for the following purposes:
- To facilitate and process payments from you;
- So that we can contact you in connection with your donation;
- To answer queries that you may have;
- To provide you with a receipt or confirmation of payment;
- To administer the Charitable Donations Scheme;
- To generate financial reports.
If your donation is being made via www.waterfordlismore.ie for a particular parish, the Diocese will forward your personal data and donation to the relevant parish so that the donation may be processed by the parish and so that it may benefit the parish.
In order for your payment to be processed, your personal details will be sent to a company called, Stripe. Stripe is an international on-line payment processing company and your data may be transferred outside the EEA by this company. Please see Stripe’s Privacy Policy for further information www.stripe.com/ie/privacy. The Diocese will receive confirmation from Stripe that your payment has been processed. This confirmation will contain your name, address and donation amount. This assists us in the administration of the donations. You will also receive confirmation of payment.
You have the right to request a copy of any personal data held by us about you. You also have the right to have such data corrected where it is inaccurate or misleading. You may also have the right to have this data deleted.
The information you provide in connection with your donation will be retained by the Diocese and/or appropriate parish for 7 years after your final payment to comply with financial and taxation requirements.
If you donate more than €250 in any one year to the Diocese or to a parish, we may contact you in relation to the Charitable Donation Scheme.

Collection and use of Non-Personal Data
Like most websites, we gather statistical and analytical information collected on an aggregate basis of all visitors to our website. This non-personal data comprises information that cannot be used to identify or contact you. Please see our Cookies Policy for further information.
