Harvest Thanksgiving Mass

On the weekend of October 30 we in The Parish of St. Nicholas, Carrick on Suir, celebrated our annual Harvest Thanksgiving.

In previous years the Vigil Mass was selected to be the special Mass of Thanksgiving;  but parishioners, who had not attended this Mass and who had seen the wonderful Altar Society presentation in the sanctuary during the other Masses, asked if the celebration could be extended to at least the middayMass. This we did.

The celebration was planned for and organized by the Youth Liturgy Group, who did the readings, read and mimed the Prayers of the Faithful (composed by themselves), distributed communion and read a most prayerful communion reflection (also provided by themselves).

The Camphill Community presented fruit and vegetables from their farm; the local Grow More and Fair Trade groups were also involved.

Congratulations to all involved in this great celebration.
