Pope Francis’ plea for European Migration Crisis

We are all aware of the urgent issue that is currently taking place with the European Migration Crisis reaching a very serious situation.

Pope Francis has launched a plea for Catholic churches across Europe to provide shelter to thousands of refugees “fleeing death by war and hunger”.  He made his plea from St. Peter’s Square on Sunday last, September 6th.  He asked that every parish, religious community, monastery and shrine to house at least one family who are seeking a better life in Europe.

He indicated that the Vatican would take in two families of refuges.

Since becoming Pope, Francis has placed the plight of migrants at the heart of his papacy, consistent with his drive for the Church to pay more attention to the poor and the marginalised across the world.
