Ellen Organ, better known as Little Nellie of Holy God, was born in Co. Waterford, Ireland in 1903. Little Nellie only lived to the age of four years and five months, but her profound knowledge and love for Jesus, whom she always referred to as “Holy God”, and her deep understanding of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist played a significant role in Pope Pius X lowering the age at which children could receive their First Holy Communion. Little Nellie’s simplicity of faith and depth of love for Holy God is an inspiring example for children and adults everywhere.

Light Fever generally takes place once a month in a number of locations across the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore. It involves Eucharistic Adoration, Confession and a candlelit Church. All are welcome.

The Waterford and Lismore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from the 5th to the 10th of June under the leadership of Most Rev. Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan. The pilgrimage is for the whole diocese, even those unable to physically participate. Bishop Cullinan invites you to send any prayer intentions you might have to [email protected] (subject: Lourdes) so that he can pray for you at Our Lady's grotto during the pilgrimage.

On Saturday, May 11th, people from all over the Clonmel area gathered in Kickhan Plaza, Barracks, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary for the annual Rosary Rally. This Rosary takes places simultaneously with about 500 other rosary rallies across the country of Ireland. Similar campaigns take place across the whole world. Different groups came together for this multicultural/multilingual rosary in honour of Our Lady of Fatima to pray for world peace.

Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan invites us to take to the streets on Thursday, 30th May in Waterford City for the Corpus Christi Procession. The Feast of Corpus Christi is the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. We will process through the streets alongside our Eucharistic Lord, honouring Him and asking Him to bless the city and all of those present.

Meet at Ballybricken Green at 6:30pm. The Procession will begin at 7pm and end with prayers and Benediction in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity.

Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan, Diocese of Waterford and Lismore, makes an urgent plea for renewed prayers for the ongoing situation in Gaza. Let us continue to keep in mind the thousands of people whose lives are still hugely impacted by the war. We also pray for our politicians, that the Lord guide them and lead them to a timely solution.

Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan invites you to the Solemn Procession of Our Lady of Waterford on Saturday, 18th May 2024. The Procession begins in St. Saviour's Church on Bridge Street at 3pm. It will pass the Old Walls of the city and The Black Friary and then conclude in the Cathedral. All are welcome to join us as we honour our Blessed Mother during the month of May.

Today Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan remembers hearing the vocation story of a religious sister. As she lived from weekend to weekend with her friends, one night, the thought came to her: “Is this all there is?”. So many people desire to go a bit deeper and to live life more fully.
