Death of Bishop William Lee, Bishop Emeritus of Waterford and Lismore

 

The death has occurred of Bishop William Lee, Bishop Emeritus of Waterford and Lismore on January 5th  2024. Bishop Emeritus William Lee passed away peacefully in the loving care of the hospice staff in St Vincent’s ward of Dungarvan Community Care Hospital. He is predeceased by his father John, his mother Delia, his brother John, and his brother in law John McDonagh. 

He is very deeply regretted by his sisters, Sister Patricia Lee and Eileen McDonagh, his brother Pat, his sisters in law Gay and Mary, his nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He is also deeply regretted by Bishop Phonsie Cullinan and the clergy, religious, and lay faithful of the diocese, also by Nora Jacob, his housekeeper and the staff of the Pastoral Centre and Diocesan Office, both past and present, and by all those who knew him in his many pastoral ministries.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

 

Reposing at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, Waterford on Monday 8th January from 2pm to 7pm.

Rosary at 3pm

Evening Prayer led by the clergy at 5pm

Night Prayer at 7pm

Solemn Requiem Mass Tuesday January 9th at 12 noon followed by burial in the Cathedral grounds.
